The Pledge

         Hey guys!

I am proud to introduce to you, the book The Pledge by Kimberly Derting.

Charlie lives in Ludania, a place where the queen rules all, the classes are separated by languages, and the revolutionaries are wanting a war. Seventeen-year-old Charlie can comprehend all forms of communication: Languages, pictures, hand gestures. If someone found out, she would be hung. Then she meets Max, this mysterious boy who speaks a language that she has never heard. Through strange and horrific events, it becomes clear that Charlie is the key that can stop the oppressive kingdom and bring in a new ruler.

This book is fantastic! To be honest, I didn't think that I would like it, but the characters and stories of each one wind through each others in a way unlike any other. It is easy to comprehend, and is enticing! I stayed up all night finishing this cause I couldn't put it down.

Arise

          Hey guys!

Just sitting here watching the Olympics! Go U.S.A!!!!

I am pleased to introduce you to the book Arise by Tara Hudson. This is the sequel to Hereafter, so if you haven't read that yet, you probably should.

After Amelia defeated Eli, she and Joshua think that all their troubles are over. But, after receiving horrible dreams and even a visit from Eli, she is warned about demons on the rise coming to find her. With this information, will Amelia be able to give up everyone she ever loved to protect them?

Hudson has a very good imagination! I have not read a book like this in a long time and liked it. The suspense, the characters, the story, it is great!

Between the Sea and Sky

                Hey guys!

So, today's book is Between the Sea and Sky by Jaclyn Dolamore.

Esmarine and her eldest sister, Dosia, have always wanted to become sirens together, the most important calling a mermaid can have. But, one day, Dosia runs away to the mainland and doesn't return. Frantic to get her back, Esmarine goes to the mainland in search for her. Meeting up with a childhood friend,Alander. He offers to help her find Dosia. On this journey, they rekindle their friendship and deep feelings stir within both of them.

This book was okay. Dolamore has a good idea with this story, it just didn't quite do it for me. She stretched out some parts to the point of boring me. Overall, though, it was okay.

A Spy in the House

    Hey guys!

Today I am going to tell you about A Spy in the House by Ying Lee. (the whole series is called The Agency).

In 1850, where thieves get hanged no matter how old, twelve-year-old Mary Quinn is one of those thieves. She has been accused of stealing, and is sentenced to death. Then, she is offered an education at Miss Scrimshaws Academy for Girls. Little does she know, this is only a cover for an all-female agency that-now seventeen-Mary is entered into. She will be a Lady companion searching for smuggled and stolen goods, or information. During this, she uncovers secrets that will change the game for everyone.

This is a very exciting read! There is a little romance, but it is mostly the mystery. How the characters are portrayed, gives you little subtle hints as to what is going to happen, but it is not so much predictable.

The (not quite) Perfect Boyfriend

   Hey guys!

So today's book is The(not quite)Perfect Boyfriend by Lili Wilkinson.

Midge, a teenage spell-a-hollic, is tired of everybody making fun of her for not having a boyfriend. So, she makes a pretend one. Then, she is paired with George, the new kid who draws dragons and wizards, for a school assignment. Then, one day Midge's little white lie begins to develop with the appearance of Ben, another new kid who is just like her fake boyfriend. As the perfect plan starts to unravel, she discovers secrets about her classmates.

This book was a quick read for me. It was entertaining and surprising, but overall, predictable. It was good, but I would not recommend it for someone who hates reading(depending on the person).

Dark Divine

             Hey guys!

I'm back! Alright, to start off the end of this week, I am going to tell you about a book I fell in love with. It's Dark Divine by Bree Despain.

Grace Divine, the daughter of a pastor, had always known that something weird had gone down with her brother Jude and their childhood friend, Daniel when he left town and Jude was on her front porch laying in a pool of blood.  Three years later when Daniel returns, she has to promise an angry Jude that she will stay away despite her attraction to the dangerous boy. The closer she gets to him, the more lies start to unravel and the more danger she is in. Now, to save the ones she loves, she might have to sacrifice the ultimatum, her soul.

Despain captured my heart in this three part series. I just finished the last book and let me tell you, it was wonderfully amazing!!!! ( If that makes sense.) I was brought into the book and lived vicariously through the characters. I can't even begin to describe how much I love this whole series! This series really is a work of art! Despain is a genius! She needs to keep writing for my sanity! ;).

I will go as far as to say that these books are my favorite books ever! (so huge it needed it's own paragraph!)

After learning that he is the son of a god, Percy Jackson is sent to Camp Half-Blood, a camp for demigods. After Zeus' lightning bolt is stolen, Percy and his friends are sent on a mission to stop a war that will rip the gods apart.

So, Riordan is an amazing author! His books, including this one, are so enticing they are great! This is the first of seven books sooo...enjoy!!

Miracle

           Hey guys!

Guess what? I got over one hundred page views!!!!!! Now if only I could get some followers! In more or less important news, today's book is Miracle by Elizabeth Scott.

Senior soccer star, Megan Hathaway is described as a miracle after she was the only one to survive a plane crash. It is great, except the only problem is...she doesn't feel like a miracle. Every day she wakes up in cold sweats wondering why she was the one who survived. She doesn't care about anything; an empty shell. But, can an unexpected friend help her deal with her problems and face the crash head on?

I think this book was just good. Nothing special, but it was not at all bad. It did not have a lot of mystery or suspense, but it was good even though it lacked in those areas. I think that if you are going through a hard time, you should read this book.

Starters

     Hey guys!

So I just finished the book Starters by Lissa Price. By the way... Happy fourth of July!

16-year-old orphan, Callie, has decided to be a doner, A person who rents their body out to Enders. She needs the money for her sick younger brother. After a glitch in her chip happens, she wakes up in the life of her renter. She discovers that the renter is planning to murder somebody with her body and Callie doesn't know how to stop it.

This was a great book! Price is on the ball with this two-part series. It is very to the point, but has a mystery aspect. The characters each have their own story that you know is there, but you don't know what it is.

Soul Enchilada

      Hey guys!

So I just finished the book Soul Enchilada by David Macinnis Gill.

After a demon comes to repossess her car, her rent is due, and she is fired, Eunice "Bug" Smoot might say she is having a bad day. She finds out that the car and her soul were used as collateral damage by her grandfather. Now she has two days to find a way to save her soul before the devil comes to claim it.

I thought this book was just fine. It was a good book, but nothing special. The characters were predictable, but okay.

p.s Have you guys heard of Cher Loyd(she's a singer)???/!!

The Name of the Star

           Hey guys!

So I literally just finished this book The Name of the Star by Maureen Johnson. Yyyeeeaaaahhhhhh!!!!

Rory, a Louisiana teen, has just moved to London to attend a boarding school there. The big news going around there is  about a killer that mimicks the "Jack the Ripper" killings. Rory believes that she has spotted him, but no one else saw him even though her roommate was right there. Now, while Rory is trying to convince herself that she is not mental, the people of London try to find out where the killer will strike next.

I really do like this book. I know that the description I gave was not very appealing, but if I said anything more, I probably would have given important stuff away! But, no joke, it is a great book. The main character is someone you can relate to(most people who read the book will be going "Whhaaatt?" at that sentence!).

As I Wake

                Hey guys!

So today is As I Wake by Elizabeth Scott. It may be the last book by her that I blogg about.

Ava wakes up in a bed that is in  house, that is in a world that she does not know. She can't remember anything. Any memories, friends, family. Nothing. But, when the mysterious Morgan shows up, she finds herself lost in memories that she is trying to make sense of. In these memories, she finds herself in a different world as a spy for a shady government agency. As she trys to uncover her past, untold secrets are getting dug up.

This book is very good! It was just very confusing. The characters themselves are confusing and even writing now, some parts are still confusing me! Even though what I said is true, It is still a very good book with a fantastic ending!
